Upcoming Events in the Minesing Wetlands – 2019

The Friends of Minesing Wetlands offers guided paddles in the spring, snowshoe hikes in the winter and hikes in the fall.

Snowshoe Hikes

We are pleased to announce two dates for the annual Friends of Minesing snowshoe hikes on Saturday, January 25, 2019 and Saturday, February 8, 2019. The hikes will depart at 9:00 am and last approximately 3 hours. The hike location will be dependent on weather conditions and will be provided to registered participants approximately a week before the scheduled hike date. Tickets cost $10.00 and include nature interpretation and navigation from the FOMW leaders (bring your own snowshoes). We have two sets of snowshoe available for rent at an additional $10.00. Are you interested in volunteering and getting involved in the Minesing Wetlands? The Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority and the Nature Conservancy of Canada are two conservation groups working in the area and host a number of volunteer events annually. These events range from tree planting, to dragonfly counts, to stream restoration.
