Become a FOMW Board Member

The Friends of Minesing Wetlands are seeking new Directors. This is a great way to get involved with a board if you haven’t before, or bring your expertise from past board appointments. No formal application is required, just come out to a meeting and see what you think. You can let us know if you’d be interested in joining formally.

We are a relaxed and fun group, yet still ambitious to take on the challenge of finding ways of engaging people to understand, respect, and help protect the ecologically important and wonderful Minesing Wetlands.

Board member responsibilities include attending meetings (we host 4 each year at various locations in Simcoe County – remotely due to Covid), participating in one or two events throughout the year which range from guided snowshoe tours, guided canoe trips and/or guided hikes and assist with other events and project such as the Annual General Meeting and infrastructure improvements.

If guiding is not your strong suit there are many other responsibilities that help to put together a trip and promoting the trip via our website and social media. The best part is that while you are helping us promote sustainability for this wetland, you are learning new skills too.
